Work with a small team of operators in a busy yard space. You will be responsible for handling various types of structural steel in a safe and efficient manner using overhead cranes, counterbalance and side loading forklifts. The position is both a mixed indoor and outdoor role.
- Pick and stage structural steel products for dispatch
- Checking material logs to ensure accuracy of orders
- Operate counterbalance and side loading forklifts
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Moving of steel products into and out of racking (up to 20m long)
- Ensuring yard stays tidy
Hours
5/6am - 2:30 are the general shift start and finish times
About you:
- Proven experience dealing with ugly freight - steel, wood etc. - most of these products are not straight or palletised.
- VALID FORKLIFT TICKET IS A MUST
- Experience with side loading/multi directional forklifts a plus
- comfortable working outside
- Team player attirude
- Adaptable to new procedures and environments
