Description

KTrans are a Western Australian family owned and operated transport and logistics business operating from our modern facilities in the Roe Hwy Logistics Park Kenwick. Our focus is providing premium end-to-end logistics solutions for our clients. We are a diverse organisation and offer a variety of services including express and line haul transport, bulk waste transport services, wharf cartage services, warehousing, regional distribution, and specialised transport solutions.

Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking a Workplace Health, Safety, and Environment Advisor to join our team to fill a newly created role with exposure to a contract in LNG/LPG transport services. Initially based at our Kenwick facility the successful candidate will predominantly be based at our customer site in Kwinana from commencement of contract.

The successful candidate will have experience in operational health and safety, with demonstrated experience and knowledge in the transport of bulk dangerous goods, and will be responsible for risk mitigation by reviewing the companies operational tasks associated with the HSEQ Management system and ensuring training guidelines are in place and that the company continues to operate in best practice.

Supporting the Head of HSEQ, you will have functional responsibility for reviewing, investigating, responding and formation of action plans post incident, to meet and exceed both our customer and Director’s expectations.

The role:

The role involves ensuring that all health and safety expectations of our customers are met, and our valued team members have support and training to successfully carry out their duties.

You will be accountable for:

  • Identification of hazards in operational work areas and effective communication of risk and controls with the operational teams
  • Support and communicate transparently with operational team on industry best practice safety
  • Reporting on and Investigate high-risk hazards, incidents, including ‘near miss’ incidents in the Business, supporting managers to identify the root cause with timely close out of corrective actions using innovative solutions
  • Compliance checks and consultations with customer representatives
  • Assist in and guide continuous improvement of the HSEQ Management System, with development of risk assessments and procedures
  • Assisting in auditing processes

The Requirements:

  • Be a safety champion and promote a positive can-do workplace team culture with your peers
  • Experience with the transport of bulk dangerous goods is essential
  • Minimum certificate level qualification in Workplace Health and Safety, additionally with Trainer and Assessor qualification an optional advantage
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to coordinate activities within a team environment
