Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG (GMAW) welding on light-gauge steel, RHS, and structural components used in caravan chassis and frames
- Fabricate and assemble caravan chassis, drawbars, suspension mounts, brackets, and associated structural components
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication plans, and production specifications
- Measure, mark, cut, and prepare steel components using hand tools, power tools, and cutting equipment
- Align and position components accurately prior to welding
- Inspect welds to ensure compliance with required strength, penetration, and quality standards
- Grind, finish, and clean welds to meet quality and presentation requirements
- Conduct routine quality checks to ensure components meet production tolerances
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure tools are in safe operating condition
- Adhere to Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) procedures within the manufacturing facility
- Work collaboratively within a production team to meet daily output targets
What we're looking for
- Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience as a Welder (First Class)
- AQF Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (or nationally recognised equivalent relevant to Welding)
- Demonstrated experience in MIG welding (essential)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans
- Experience working with light to medium-gauge steel in a manufacturing environment
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work efficiently within a structured production setting
- Physically fit and capable of handling steel components as required
