Warehouse Operators (Forklift Drivers)

Your Role

As we continue to grow, we are seeking motivated Warehouse Operators (Forklift Drivers) to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in safely and efficiently handling cotton bales, operating machinery, and preparing shipments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operate and maintain warehouse machinery (loader, forklift, sweeper). Conduct routine pre-start checks and basic maintenance to ensure safety and performance.
2. Load and unload incoming and outgoing bale and container trucks efficiently, and build bale loads in a timely manner.
3. Ensure compliance with mass, dimension, and load restraint requirements for heavy vehicles.
4. Communicate vehicle movements via UHF and assist in directing traffic in line with site traffic management plans. Ensure safe loading and unloading of trucks.
5. Support Warehouse Leading Hand and Supervisor to direct traffic in the warehouse precinct in accordance with traffic management plan/s.
6. Operate company systems (e.g., SAP and warehouse applications) and maintain accurate records.
7. Provide support for DAFF Authorized Officer inspections of containers and cotton bales.

Skills and Qualifications

1. At least one (1) year of relevant experience operating/loading equipment and packing containers in a warehouse or industrial environment, preferably with agricultural commodities
2. Proven ability to operate heavy equipment and machinery, including forklifts
3. Basic knowledge of vehicle inspection and maintenance (advantageous)
4. Ability to use company data systems and troubleshoot when required
5. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce site safety procedures
6. Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
7. Valid driver’s licence (required)
8. Valid forklift licence (required)
9. Knowledge of safety legislation
10. Willingness to undertake training for DAFF Authorized Officer accreditation (at company expense)

Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per annum depending on experience
