The Underground Electrician is responsible for providing quality, timely preventative maintenance and repairs to underground infrastructure

Vault Minerals Limited is a leading intermediate gold producer listed on the ASX, with a diversified portfolio of operating assets across Western Australia and Canada. Deflector Operation consists of two high-grade, narrow vein Gold/Copper mines, located 160 km east of Geraldton. The ore is contained in a series of structurally complex lodes, namely the Deflector and Deflector Southwest deposits.

Reporting to the UG Electrical Supervisor, the UG Electrician is responsible for providing quality, timely preventative maintenance and repairs to underground mining infrastructure, radio and telemetry network facilities, and other operational areas. This role ensures full compliance with Vault Minerals’ operational procedures, legislative requirements, and best practice safety standards to achieve production and safety targets.

Roster on offer is 14:14 FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton.

Key Responsibilities of this Role Will Include:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on underground mining infrastructure, radio, and telemetry network facilities
  • Ensure all electrical activities are completed to the highest standard and in compliance with site and statutory regulations
  • Support efficient operation of production facilities by minimising downtime and loss of production
  • Conduct quality fault finding, diagnostics, and accurate fault diagnosis
  • Prioritise and respond quickly to urgent breakdowns impacting production or safety
  • Ensure all installations comply with site electrical standards and statutory requirements
  • Maintain exemplary housekeeping and actively participate in safety initiatives, incident/accident reporting, and emergency preparedness
  • Manage department paperwork, ensuring all logbooks and work orders are completed and returned to the Electrical Supervisor
  • Assist with other underground tasks as directed by supervisor

About You:

  • WA Electrical Licence (or equivalent state/territory licence)
  • Underground mining electrical experience 
  • Knowledge of WHS legislation, mining safety regulations, and electrical standards
  • Experience with fault-finding, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance strategies
  • Australian Manual Drivers License (C Class)
  • ST Johns First Aid Certificate 'High Voltage Switching Operations (desirable)
