Position – Truck Driver (General)

Location – Truck Depot: Maddington, Western Australia 6109. This role requires travel across Perth and outer regional Western Australia, such as Geraldton, Kalgoorlie and Leonora.

Salary - $80,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation per annum

THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced MC Truck Driver to join our transport operations team. The successful applicant will be responsible for operating heavy vehicle combinations to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently while maintaining compliance within Australian transport and workplace safety regulations. In this role you will safely haul heavy scrap metal and materials directly out of active mine sites. You will operate high-productivity heavy vehicle combinations and utilise hydraulic tipping systems daily.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES INCLUDE:

· Operate Multi Combination (MC) heavy vehicles, including B-Doubles and Road trains, to transport goods, scrap metal, bulk materials, and equipment safely and efficiently.

· Drive heavy vehicles on public roads, regional routes, construction sites, and mine sites in compliance with Australian road transport regulations and company procedures.

· Conduct pre-start, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles, trailers, hydraulic systems, tyres, brakes, lights, and safety equipment to ensure roadworthiness and compliance within operational and safety requirements.

· Load, secure, transport, and unload freight using approved load restraint methods and specialised equipment, including tipping systems where required.

· Ensure loads comply with mass, dimension, and load restraint requirements and are safely distributed across the vehicle combination.

· Plan and follow delivery schedules and transport routes to ensure the timely and efficient movement of freight.

· Complete and maintain accurate transport documentation, work diaries, delivery records, inspection reports, and timesheets.

· Comply with Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), fatigue management requirements, Chain of Responsibility obligations, and workplace health and safety procedures.

· Report vehicle defects, maintenance requirements, incidents, and safety concerns promptly and assist with fleet maintenance activities.

· Liaise effectively with dispatch personnel, supervisors, customers, and site representatives to ensure efficient transport operations and service delivery.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

· A current MC (Multi Combination) truck licence – ESSENTIAL.

· Minimum of 1 year (preferably more) work experience operating heavy vehicles.

· Experience with B-Doubles, Road Trains, or similar heavy vehicle combinations, including hills.

· Knowledge of fatigue management, load restraint, and Heavy Vehicle National Law requirements.

· Site ready: ability to pass a comprehensive mine-site medical check and drug and alcohol screen.

· Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

· White Card: current General Construction Induction training card is ESSENTIAL.

· Ability to transport heavy loads of scrap metal and bulk materials.

· Perform safe tipping and unloading operations in designated areas.

· Good communication and customer service skills.

· Excellent time management skills, punctual and reliable work ethic.

· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

· You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
