We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Travel Agency Manager to join our growing team.

Role Overview:

As a Travel Agency Manager, you will be responsible for organising and controlling the overall operations of our travel agency. You will lead and supervise a team of travel consultants and support staff, manage supplier relationships, oversee financial functions, and ensure the delivery of high-quality travel services to our clients.

This role requires strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills, together with sound knowledge of the travel and tourism industry, supplier negotiations, customer service excellence, and workplace compliance. You will play a key role in driving business performance, implementing marketing strategies, managing client relationships, and ensuring the agency operates in full compliance with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manages and oversees daily operations of a travel agency
  2. Manages financial aspects of a travel agency, including budgeting, invoicing and financial reporting
  3. Establishes and maintains relationships with suppliers such as airlines, hotels and tour operators
  4. Negotiates contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing
  5. Provides travel advice and assistance to clients, including booking flights, accommodation and tours
  6. Implements marketing activities to attract customers to the business
  7. Resolves customer complaints and queries
  8. Monitors and evaluates the performance of staff, and provides feedback, training and guidance

Essential Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience as a Travel Agency Manager or in a similar managerial role;

OR

• A relevant Diploma or higher qualification together with at least 1 year of relevant full-time work experience.

Skills and Attributes:

  1. Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a diverse team of travel professionals.
  2. In-depth knowledge of the travel and tourism industry, including airline systems, accommodation providers, tour operators, and travel booking platforms.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with confidence in liaising with clients, suppliers, staff, and external stakeholders.
  4. Proven negotiation skills with demonstrated experience securing competitive supplier contracts and agreements.
  5. Sound financial management skills including budgeting, invoicing, and financial reporting within a travel or hospitality environment.
  6. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to provide tailored travel advice and resolve complaints effectively.
  7. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing marketing strategies to grow a client base and drive business performance.
  8. Solid understanding of occupational health and safety obligations and relevant workplace legislation.
  9. High level of attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate booking records, client accounts, and administrative systems.
  10. Proficiency in travel booking systems, GDS platforms, and relevant business management software.
  11. Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and professional workplace culture.
  12. Experience in budget management and resource allocation within a travel agency setting will be highly regarded.
