About the Role
The Telecommunications Technical Officer/Technologist position is responsible for supporting the installation, testing, maintenance, and operation of telecommunications systems and network infrastructure. The role involves technical troubleshooting, system monitoring, equipment configuration, and supporting telecommunications projects to ensure services operate efficiently and reliably.

Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 + Superannuation
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of telecommunications equipment and systems
- Monitor network performance and identify technical faults or service issues
- Conduct testing and diagnostics on telecommunications infrastructure and equipment
- Support the configuration and operation of telecommunications systems and network devices
- Investigate and troubleshoot technical problems affecting telecommunications services
- Prepare technical reports, system records, and operational documentation
- Assist with project implementation and telecommunications system upgrades
- Liaise with technical personnel, contractors, and service providers regarding operational requirements
- Maintain records relating to equipment performance, maintenance activities, and technical support requests
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures during all technical and field-based activities
Skills & Experience
- Relevant qualification such as a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Telecommunications, Electronics, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 1–2 years of full-time relevant work experience in a similar role
- Understanding of telecommunications systems, network infrastructure, and technical support processes
- Experience performing testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting activities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and technical documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively within a technical and project-based environment
