What we're looking for:

  1. Cert III in Communications (essential)
  2. Mine site experience and strong understanding of operational environments
  3. HRWL / EWP
  4. Open Cable Licence
  5. ELV qualification or equivalent
  6. QLD CBM & Standard 11 (preferred)
  7. Experience with P25, Tetra, DMR
  8. RF/EME awareness
  9. Strong capability in maintaining and troubleshooting fleet management systems, radio networks, and fibre optics
  10. Sharp analytical skills and a collaborative, proactive mindset

What you’ll be doing:

  1. Monitor and maintain telecommunications and OT network infrastructure across mine sites.
  2. Diagnose and resolve faults across RF, fibre-optic, Ethernet, and IP-based communication systems.
  3. Install, configure, test, and commission telecommunications equipment, including radios, LTE devices, network switches, wireless access points, and antenna systems.
  4. Support and maintain wireless mesh networks, microwave links, mobile data terminals, and other critical communication technologies.
  5. Analyse alarms and system performance data to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  6. Work with routing, switching, radio, telematics, and operational technology systems within mining environments.
  7. Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and testing to ensure network reliability and performance.
  8. Review technical drawings and documentation to support the delivery of telecommunications projects.
  9. Maintain accurate records, including commissioning reports, network configurations, and equipment inventories.
  10. Provide technical support and advice to site personnel, contractors, and key stakeholders.
  11. Liaise with suppliers and vendors regarding equipment repairs, upgrades, and technical support requirements.
  12. Identify opportunities to improve network performance, reliability, and the integration of telecommunications systems across site.
