Our Client, GTB Roadlines Pty Ltd T/A Barrel N Basket is a vibrant and contemporary dining destination located at Unit 6, 547 Kessels Road, Macgregor QLD 4109 in Brisbane’s southside. Known for its warm ambience, friendly service, and carefully curated menu, Barrel N Basket caters to a diverse clientele seeking high-quality food in a relaxed setting. The restaurant blends modern culinary techniques with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, offering an exceptional dining experience that reflects both creativity and consistency.

We are seeking for a full time Tandoori Chef to join the team. The role requires efficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Duties and responsibilities:

  1. Menu designing and amending details in menu regarding prices, dishes whenever required as well as planning seasonal specials.
  2. Ensure proper storage of tandoori ingredients in temperature-controlled facilities to maintain freshness and quality.
  3. Directing food preparation to meet any special dietary requirements of the customer.
  4. Monitor stock levels of tandoori ingredients and order high-quality raw materials to avoid shortages.
  5. Responsible for the preparation of dishes from the tandoor, including naan bread, chaps, and marinated meats as per the menu and recipes.
  6. Ensuring that the meals are prepared as per hygiene standards and served to the customers on time.
  7. Ensure staff always adhere to Occupational health and safety measures.
  8. Ensuring the seasoning marination and garnishing of tandoori dishes are done appropriately as well as ensuring that the right portion of food is served to the customers as per restaurant standards.
  9. Analyzing and approximating the price for food and human resources.
  10. Providing instructions to kitchen staff regarding the proper way of handling cooking equipment and demonstrating different cooking styles.
  11. Monitoring the quality of raw and cooked food.
  12. Recruit, Train and mentor other kitchen staff and apprentices in tandoori cooking techniques.
  13. Working closely with managers, kitchen staff, and waiting staff, the focus is on fostering collaboration and addressing operational, nutritional, and customer service aspects to ensure efficient and high-quality food service.
  14. Effectively deal and rectify the issues for the smooth operations of the business.

Qualifications and experience:

·Diploma level qualification in relevant field is required.

·The candidate must have at least 1 year experience in a busy restaurant.

·Friendly, positive & approachable attitude.

·To be energetic & motivated.

·Able to work under pressure.

Salary Package: $75,000 - $85,000 Plus Superannuation per annum.
