The Role
We are currently seeking a Sports Development Officer to work with our growing Men's & Women's Competitive Program. This role requires a dedicated professional who can deliver comprehensive program development, coaching excellence, and strategic growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Design progressive sport and gymnastic training programs that enhance flexibility, core strength, and aerial awareness for recreational and competitive participants
- Deliver high-quality training programs to competitive gymnasts across multiple age groups and skill levels
- Manage program budgets and support Gymnastics Australia grant applications to fund club initiatives
- Conduct coach development clinics focused on spotting techniques and biomechanical safety
- Promote gymnastics training benefits to Eastern Suburbs schools to boost enrollment in classes, holiday camps, and private lessons
- Scout emerging talent from recreational programs for competitive WAG squad placement
- Coordinate performance showcases and skills assessments during holiday programs and end-of-term evaluations
- Create lesson plans and demonstrate leadership to coaches and athletes
- Communicate with parents about athlete progression, behaviour, and developmental needs
- Represent the club in meetings, conferences, and professional development workshops
Selection Criteria
- Advanced Coaching accreditation
- Beginner Judging accreditation
- Minimum 3 years of experience in sport / gymnastics coaching and program development
- Proven experience in competitive sport / gymnastics coaching (WAG or MAG programs)
- Demonstrated experience in program management and administrative coordination
- Australian Sporting Alliance for People with a Disability (ASAPD)
- First Aid Certificate
- Working with Children Check
