About the Opportunity

As a Senior Engineer, you will lead the delivery of civil construction and maintenance projects across a rural road and stormwater network. You’ll provide expert technical advice, oversee project performance, and mentor team members while contributing to Council’s broader goals.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage civil construction and maintenance programs, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives
  • Plan, direct, control and evaluate operational activities and project delivery
  • Prepare specifications, estimates and technical documentation for projects
  • Oversee minor and major projects, including supervision of construction teams
  • Monitor project performance (time, cost, quality) and provide detailed reporting
  • Provide expert technical advice and contribute to policy and process development
  • Mentor engineers, technical staff and trainees, fostering capability and growth
  • Analyse and present project data to support informed decision-making
  • Drive innovation, continuous improvement and adoption of new practices
  • Deliver high-quality customer service and stakeholder engagement

About You

You are an experienced and motivated engineering professional who thrives on delivering complex infrastructure projects and leading teams.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering
  • RPEQ (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • Extensive experience in civil construction and maintenance environments
  • Proven experience managing works programs and supervising teams
  • Strong technical, analytical and reporting capability
  • White Card (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current ‘C’ Class Driver Licence

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualification in Project Management
  • Traffic Management Design (TMD) qualification
