Senior Civil Designer - 12D

Civil Design Engineer / 12D Designer Land Development | Brisbane / QLD

An exciting new role for an experienced Civil Design Engineer or Senior 12D Designer with strong 12D modelling capability to join a respected engineering consultancy delivering large-scale land development projects across Queensland.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of detailed civil design delivery across a range of urban development projects. You will work within a skilled, collaborative team of engineers and designers, supported by modern systems, clear processes, and a genuine pathway for technical and career growth in a supportive, quality-driven environment.

About the Role You will play a key role in delivering high-quality civil design and modelling for major residential subdivisions, typically ranging from 200 to 1,000+ lots. Depending on your background, the role can be tailored toward either technical design engineering or advanced 12D modelling, with strong collaboration between both disciplines.

You will be confident working across bulk earthworks, road design, stormwater, sewer, and water reticulation, with a solid understanding of local authority standards and constructability requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver detailed civil design and/or modelling using 12D Model, supported by AutoCAD
2. Prepare design models and documentation for:
3. Bulk earthworks and lot grading
4. Road alignments, intersections, and verge treatments
5. Stormwater drainage (pipe networks and surface flow)
6. Sewer and water reticulation
7. Produce high-quality design outputs including:Long sections, cross sections, layouts, and construction documentation
8. Collaborate with engineers, designers, project managers, and internal teams
9. Liaise with local councils, service authorities, and external stakeholders
10. Review design information and respond to construction and RFI queries
11. Support design compliance, coordination, and timely project delivery

What You’ll Bring For Civil Design Engineers:

1. Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
2. Experience delivering civil design in a consultancy environment
3. Strong understanding of Australian standards and local authority requirements
4. Ability to manage and coordinate design packages across multiple projects

For 12D Designers:

1. Diploma or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or Design
2. Strong hands-on experience using 12D Model, particularly for subdivisions
3. Proven capability delivering detailed civil models and construction documentation

For Both:

1. Typically 5+ years’ experience in land development projects
2. High attention to detail and strong documentation skills
3. Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
4. Strong communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused mindset
