We are looking for a Remedial Masseur (Massage therapist) to join the team! In this role, you will be responsible for performing targeted therapeutic massages and administering advanced body treatments to improve health, manage musculoskeletal dysfunction, and support sports performance. This is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week based in Concord, NSW.
Main tasks:
-Conducting clinical assessments of clients, evaluating range of motion, taking detailed medical/case histories, and performing orthopedic testing to identify specific soft tissue dysfunctions.
-Massaging the soft tissues of the body, including muscles, tendons, and ligaments, to manage pathologies, reduce muscle tension, alleviate pain, and assist the natural healing process.
-Utilising sports massage protocols (pre-event, post-event, and inter-event) to enhance performance, mitigate injury risk, and expedite recovery times for active clients.
-Planning rehabilitation, and advising clients on safe stretching protocols, strengthening exercises, posture corrections, and stress-management strategies.
Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience:
-A Diploma level qualification in Remedial massage plus 1 year of relevant experience.
-At least 3 years of relevant experience when no formal qualification was obtained.
Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge:
-Clear verbal skills to explain complex treatment plans, clinical assessments, and home-care exercises to clients in an easy-to-understand manner.
-Analytical mindset to properly evaluate physical symptoms, identify underlying musculoskeletal issues, and adapt massage techniques dynamically during a session.
-Excellent organisational skills to ensure appointments run punctually while still delivering thorough, high-quality care to each individual client.
-Ability to build trust and maintain strong, respectful, and confidential relationships with a diverse range of clients and healthcare colleagues.
Annual salary will be between $76,000.00 to $80,000.00 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience.
