The Production Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all production activities, ensuring efficient manufacturing processes, consistent product quality, cost control, and compliance with food safety and workplace safety standards. This role is critical to supporting business growth, operational excellence, and team development.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

●Planning, implementing, and monitoring production strategies, policies, and manufacturing processes

●Managing day-to-day operations of the production plant, including batching, pasteurizing, processing, bottling, and packing

●Planning production activities in line with output requirements, quality standards, cost targets, timelines, and labor availability

●Managing procurement and availability of raw materials in line with production cycles and demand forecasting

●Overseeing installation, commissioning, and operation of new machinery and production equipment

●Monitoring machine parameters, operating bottling lines (rotary and piston filled), and maintaining accurate production records

●Controlling production costs and output, analyzing performance, and adjusting processes and resources to improve efficiency

●Preparing detailed production reports, cost analyses, and operational documentation for senior management

●Managing staff capacity, directing daily staff activities, and monitoring performance to ensure timely delivery of goods

●Leading, training, mentoring, and developing production teams to meet milestones and KPIs

●Ensuring compliance with food safety systems, including HACCP, SQF, BRC, and ISO 22000 standards

●Maintaining high-care production environments and managing short shelf-life products

●Coordinating occupational health and safety requirements and ensuring WH&S compliance across the facility

●Monitoring stock control systems and implementing improvements to inventory accuracy and efficiency

●Communicating production-related information effectively with other managers and departments

●Conducting research into manufacturing methods and recommending and implementing continuous improvement initiatives

●Overseeing maintenance planning, operating hours, and supply of components, tools, and parts

●Ensuring all production records, reports, and documentation are accurately prepared and maintained

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

●Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in a Production Manager or similar senior manufacturing role

●Minimum 3-4 years’ experience working with short shelf-life food products

●Graduate Certificate or higher qualification in hospitality or business.

●Proven experience in high-care food manufacturing environments

●HACCP qualified with strong knowledge of food safety systems

●Demonstrated understanding of SQF, BRC, and ISO 22000 requirements and practices

●Hands-on experience operating bottling lines, including rotary and piston-filled systems

●Proven track record in managing, training, and mentoring teams toward operational milestones and KPIs

●Strong understanding of Work Health & Safety (WH&S) requirements

●Demonstrated ability to positively influence workplace culture, performance, and continuous improvement

●Proven experience implementing improvements in stock and inventory management

●Forklift license (required)

●Strong leadership, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills
