Full-Time Production Manager (Manufacturing)

Fortunate Palace Pty Ltd is looking for a full-time Production Manager who is responsible for planning, organising, directing, controlling and coordinating the manufacturing activities of the business.
The role ensures production operations run efficiently, meet quality standards, and comply with relevant food safety, workplace health and safety, and regulatory requirements.
The Production Manager supervises production staff, manages production schedules, oversees the use of raw materials and equipment, and implements process improvements to maintain consistent product quality and operational efficiency.
Main Responsibilities:
- Plan, organise, direct and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production targets, quality standards and delivery deadlines are achieved.
- Develop and implement production schedules and workflows to maximise operational efficiency and minimise downtime.
- Coordinate the procurement and utilisation of raw materials, ingredients, packaging and other resources required for manufacturing operations.
- Monitor production processes and adjust workflows, staffing levels and operationalmethods to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure manufactured products meet company specifications, food safety requirements and quality assurance standards.
- Supervise, train and manage production staff, including team leaders and line workers to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Develop staff rosters, allocate work tasks and monitor employee performance to maintain productivity and quality standards.
- Implement and maintain food safety, hygiene and quality control systems including HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations and company safety procedures within the manufacturing environment.
- Investigate production issues, equipment faults or quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure production equipment is properly maintained, serviced and functioning effectively.
- Analyse production data, labour usage, waste levels and operational performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimise manufacturing processes and reduce operational costs.
- Prepare production reports and provide operational updates to senior management.
- Assist senior management with strategic planning, budgeting and operational development for the manufacturing department.
Skills & Qualifications:
- At least bachelor or above qualification, OR at least two years relevant work experience, especially in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and operational management.
- Demonstrated leadership and staff management experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving, organisational and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage production deadlines and operational priorities.
- Knowledge of HACCP, food safety standards and quality assurance systems.
- Experience managing high-volume production environments.
Base annual salary range from $90,000-$110,000 plus superannuation
