About The Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Primary Product Inspector (Fruit and Vegetable Inspector) to join our Gourmet Herbs team in the Sydney fresh produce market in Homebush, NSW. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting fresh produce to ensure it meets food safety, quality, and buyer specifications before distribution.

An equivalent combination of formal qualifications and relevant industry experience demonstrating the skills and knowledge required to perform the role effectively.
A minimum of one year of recent relevant experience in fresh produce inspection, quality assurance, food safety, agriculture, horticulture, or a related industry.
Strong understanding of fresh fruit and vegetable quality standards, grading systems, and inspection procedures.
Knowledge of food safety and quality assurance systems,
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify quality defects, contamination risks, and non-compliance issues.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions regarding product suitability and safety.
Proficient in maintaining inspection records, compliance documentation, and quality reports.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to manage changing priorities and seasonal workloads.
A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and peak harvest periods when required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $76,000.00 – $81,000.00 plus superannuation per year
