We are seeking a capable and people‑focused Practice Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Sydney CBD Dental Centre. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing structure to a busy clinical environment, supporting staff, and ensuring patients receive consistently high‑quality care.

This role manages only the Sydney CBD Dental Centre

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide steady, coordinated leadership to ensure the Centre operates smoothly and efficiently.

  • Mentor and guide support staff, working with the Operations Manager on performance reviews and development plans.
  • Meet key customer service and financial targets while managing rosters, consumables, and workflow.
  • Build staff capability through training, coaching, and encouraging a culture of continuous learning.
  • Oversee rostering, leave planning, and onboarding to ensure new team members are well prepared and supported.
  • Manage non‑clinical complaints with professionalism, escalating matters to the Operations Manager when required.
  • Maintain WHS compliance, report hazards promptly, and contribute to safety initiatives.
  • Plan and direct operational processes to support patient access, appointment book management, and service quality.
  • Support change initiatives, strengthen team performance, and acknowledge staff achievements.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential:

  • Experience managing day‑to‑day operations in a dental practice.
  • Background in dental assisting, reception, or dental administration.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Solid understanding of WHS requirements in a dental setting.
  • A confident, positive, and resilient approach to leading people.
  • Experience working effectively with multicultural teams and patient communities.

Desirable:

  • Experience with quality management or improvement systems, ideally including ISO standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of private health insurance products.
