Painter

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team. The role involves preparing surfaces, applying paint or wallpaper, performing minor repairs, and ensuring high-quality finishes. You will maintain tools, follow safety procedures, and collaborate with the team to complete projects on time. Weekend and weekday availability is required as per business needs.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Preparing surfaces by stripping old paint and wallpaper, repairing woodwork, filling cracks and holes, and sanding for a smooth finish.
2. Mixing pigments, oils, and additives to achieve the required paint colour and consistency.
3. Applying paint, varnish, and stains to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
4. Hanging wallpaper, ensuring patterns align, and trimming excess edges.
5. Setting up scaffolding and ladders, and covering surrounding areas with drop sheets to prevent paint splashes.
6. Cleaning tools, equipment, and workspaces after completing tasks.
7. Repairing windows and replacing glass panes in metal or wooden frames, if needed.
8. Installing and repairing wall and floor tiles when required.

Skills, experience, and qualifications

1. Must have at least 1 year of experience working as a Painter
2. Must have a relevant certificate III level qualification.
3. Time management and organizational skills.
4. Communication skills
