About the role:

As an Operations Coordinator you will effectively coordinate the West Kalgoorlie traincrew and yard operations, ensuring cost effective deployment of resources while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Being an integral part of the West Kalgoorlie Leadership Team and overseeing daily movements of the rolling stock and timely scheduled yard operations, you will be required to:

  • Direct and manage the allocation, utilisation, and deployment of production resources to ensure the disciplined execution of the yard plan.
  • Develop, implement, and manage process, systems and procedures that will eliminate above rail factors within the cycle which impact on supply chain performance and the attainment of the daily schedule.
  • Develop and maintain the knowledge, skills and attributes of self and the team and ensure the team has clear, current, and measurable goals and objectives aligned to the plan and business targets.
  • Provide advice, coaching and support to direct operational employees that assists in achieving performance objectives, promote high performance teams and support continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure that all business activities and employees within the position’s area of control comply with all relevant legislative/statutory obligations and company policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Responsibilities of this role may vary over time.

About you:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Train Driving and/or Shunt Qualifications (preferred, however, training can be provided).
  • Certificate IV/Diploma in Front-line Management or equivalent (preferred).
  • Substantial level of analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of computers and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Previous experience in yard operations, as well as
  • Previous frontline leadership experience in large scale logistics or heavy industry will be highly regarded.
