Your New Role

This is a prominent leadership position (classified as POL 2) with a secure 3-year leadership tenure (2027–2029). You will oversee the strategic direction of the Science department across Years 7–12, ensuring high-quality curriculum delivery and effective staff resourcing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Curriculum Leadership: Lead the development, implementation, and regulatory compliance of the Science curriculum for Years 7–12.

  • Operations & Safety: Provide clear direction to the Laboratory Technician Leader regarding team management, supplies, scheduling, and risk minimisation strategies.

  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow Learning Leaders to optimise shared technician staff resourcing and task prioritisation.

  • Facility Management: Oversee and schedule specialist Science facilities across the college campuses.

Successful Candidate Profile

  • Qualifications: Relevant secondary teaching qualification and current VIT registration (or equivalent).

  • Experience: Demonstrated leadership experience in a similar educational capacity with strong financial and budgetary acumen.

  • Pedagogical Expertise: Deep understanding of curriculum development, assessment practices, and data analysis to drive targeted professional development.

  • Attributes: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong commitment to mentoring teachers and upholding the Catholic ethos of the college.
