The Role:

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Larder Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team and contribute to the continued success of our operations. The position will work closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and the management. The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist in menu planning as per customer demand and market requirements within the company budget in liaison with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and the management.

• Preparing and cooking dishes according to the menu and standardized recipes

• Oversee food preparation, ensuring freshness, quality, and adherence to food safety guidelines.

• Discussing food preparation issues with Managers and Kitchen staff.

• Rotating stock, ordering and maintaining food stock, food portion control, waste management, and stock purchase (receipt and storage);

• Contribute to the development of a positive and collaborative kitchen culture.

• Adherence and awareness of Australian food & safety health standards & codes of practice.

• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to hygiene and sanitation standards.

About the applicant:

• A genuine passion for cooking and creativity.

• Trade qualifications (i.e. Cert III or IV in Commercial Cookery).

• At least 1 year of experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen

• Dedication to delivering exceptional food quality

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• A thorough understanding of food safety standards and HACCP

• The ability to perform efficiently under pressure

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
