Your Responsibilities
- Arranging, coordinating, and conducting investigations and audits to ensure the correct handling of pharmaceutical funds and the net yield of medicinal production.
- Examining the effectiveness of internal operating controls throughout the cultivation and extraction facility.
- Inspecting accounting systems and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness in a high-compliance environment.
- Reviewing the accuracy and reliability of financial reports and records across all departments.
- Reporting to management on the findings of investigations and audits and advising on operational deficiencies.
- Conducting audits of pharmaceutical-grade records and specialized accounting systems.
- Preparing financial statements and reports for management and regulatory review.
- Recommending improvements to business and financial procedures to ensure robust internal governance.
- Advising on the financial aspects of inventory management, supply chain logistics, and capital investment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related Business field. Membership with a professional body such as the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), CPA Australia, or CA ANZ is highly regarded.
- Experience: At least five years of relevant internal auditing experience may substitute for formal qualifications. Previous experience in pharmaceutical, agricultural, or high-security manufacturing sectors is an advantage.
- Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of Australian Auditing Standards and financial legislation.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to detect operational and financial discrepancies.
- Proficiency in utilizing advanced audit software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Strong communication skills for presenting complex findings to executive leadership.
- Licensing & Background Checks: Due to the strict legal framework surrounding plant-based medicines in Australia, the successful candidate must pass a comprehensive National Police Check. You must also meet the "Fit and Proper Person" criteria required for employees working within licensed medicinal facilities.
