Solution Seeker AS is a Norwegian Deep Tech firm specializing in AI-driven production optimization for the global energy sector. We are seeking a high-level executive to lead our expansion into the Australian market and the wider Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
Based in Perth, Western Australia, the General Manager will serve as the executive link between our Norwegian headquarters and our Australian operations. This dual-function role requires a unique combination of strategic financial stewardship and operational leadership to establish our regional presence and ensure the successful delivery of high-value contracts.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership & Contract Execution:
- Lead the commencement and execution of our new potential project with a major energy company in Australia, ensuring all technical and commercial milestones are met according to the contract.
- Act as the primary high-level point of contact stakeholders, ensuring seamless delivery of our proprietary AI solutions.
- Coordinate daily with the R&D and technical teams in Norway to align project delivery with group standards.
2. Regional Establishment & Long-term Growth:
- Drive the formal establishment of Solution Seeker’s Australian presence (ARBN/Branch office) and secure physical project office space in Perth.
- Long-term Talent Strategy: Lead the recruitment and onboarding of local Australian technical and administrative staff to build a self-sustained regional team within the first 12–24 months.
- Transition the Australian operations from a project-specific presence to a permanent regional headquarters for the Oceania and APAC markets.
3. Financial Governance & Group Integration:
- Manage all regional financial stewardship, including P&L responsibility for the Australian branch and integration into the group’s consolidated financial reporting in Norway.
- Maintain a continuous strategic dialogue with the Norwegian HQ and Board to ensure alignment between regional activities and global financial goals.
- Handle complex international tax, currency, and capital flow management between Norway and Australia.
4. Business Development & Commercial Collaboration:
- Identify and explore new commercial opportunities and customer leads within the Australian and APAC energy sectors.
- Evaluate and establish strategic partnerships and commercial collaborations with local energy-tech players to strengthen our regional footprint.
- Represent Solution Seeker at major industry forums and high-level negotiations in the region.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of executive leadership experience.
- Global Track Record: Proven experience managing financial and operational structures in multiple international markets, specifically within the Nordics/Europe, South America, and the South Pacific region.
- Technical & Sector Insight: Deep understanding of Deep Tech business models and AI/SaaS implementation within the energy/oil & gas sector.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to build organizations from the ground up in new territories.
- Languages: English (professional level fluency, both written and verbal), Scandinavian (desirable), German (desirable).
