Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Floor Finisher to join our team on a full-time basis.

Position Overview

The Floor Finisher will be responsible for preparing, installing, repairing, sanding, coating and finishing various flooring surfaces to a high professional standard. The successful candidate will work on a variety of commercial, industrial and residential flooring projects while ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Prepare flooring surfaces for installation and finishing.
2. Measure, cut, install and repair flooring materials.
3. Sand, grind and level floor surfaces using specialised equipment.
4. Apply coatings, sealers, epoxy systems and protective finishes.
5. Mix and apply floor finishing products according to manufacturer specifications.
6. Install and finish timber, vinyl, resin, concrete and other flooring systems.
7. Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are achieved.
8. Operate and maintain flooring tools, machinery and equipment.
9. Read and interpret plans, specifications and project requirements.
10. Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety procedures.
11. Work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required

1. Relevant trade qualification (Certificate III or equivalent) in Flooring Technology, Floor Finishing, Construction or a related field; OR
2. At least 2 years of relevant full-time work experience as a Floor Finisher, Floor Layer or similar occupation.
3. Demonstrated experience in floor preparation, sanding, coating and finishing techniques.
4. Experience working with epoxy coatings, concrete coatings, timber flooring finishes or similar flooring systems is highly regarded.
5. Ability to safely operate flooring equipment and power tools.
6. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
7. Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
8. Good communication skills.
9. Current White Card (or ability to obtain prior to commencement).
10. Current driver's licence preferred.
