About Us

The Electrical Engineering Technician will support the electrical engineering team in the design, assembly, testing, installation, and commissioning of low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV) switchboards and associated control systems. The role requires strong technical competence, attention to detail, and the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist electrical engineers in the design and development of LV and MV switchboards, control panels, and electrical assemblies.
  2. Interpret engineering drawings, single line diagrams (SLD), schematics, and wiring schedules.
  3. Assemble, wire, and test electrical switchboards and control systems according to AS/NZS 61439 and other applicable standards.
  4. Inspect electrical components, identify faults, and ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
  5. Prepare technical reports, quality checklists, testing records, and documentation for compliance and certification.
  6. Coordinate with production, engineering, and site teams to ensure accurate installation and commissioning.
  7. Support continuous improvement initiatives, including efficiency, safety, and quality enhancements.
  8. Maintain safe work practices and contribute to WHS/ISO compliance within the workshop and testing bays.

Skills & Qualifications Required

  1. Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Certificate IV in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Electrotechnology, or related field.
  2. Minimum 2+ years of experience in electrical switchboards, panel manufacturing, HVAC controls, automation systems, or industrial electrical systems.
  3. Strong ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  4. Experience with AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 61439, IEC standards, or similar electrical compliance frameworks.
  5. Experience in troubleshooting and testing electrical control circuits preferable.
  6. High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  7. Ability to work independently and within a project-based manufacturing environment.
