Are you an experienced criminal lawyer that will help shape the future of the criminal prosecution service in the Northern Territory?
The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) is recruiting an experienced criminal lawyer and advocate as a Crown Prosecutor.
In that role your key responsibilities will include providing expert legal advice relating to complex prosecutions, and providing representation for the prosecution before all courts of the Northern Territory and the High Court of Australia in jury trials, complex summary prosecutions, appeals and related matters. This is a position for an experienced advocate with trial experience.
To be shortlisted it is essential you have been admitted or are eligible for admission as a barrister or solicitor of the High Court or a Supreme Court of a State or Territory of Australia, have experience in jury trial and/or appellate advocacy, and can demonstrate extensive knowledge and understanding of criminal law.
Exceptional communication skills combined with strong interpersonal and analytical skills will put you in good standing.
The rewards
In return, you will receive a competitive salary of $132,408 - $147,919, inclusive of 12% superannuation, six weeks recreational and three weeks personal leave, 17.5% annual leave loading, substantial career satisfaction, flexible work arrangements, and the opportunity to experience the uniqueness of living and working in the Northern Territory. Relocation assistance will be available.
