The story

A rapidly expanding exploration and project development group is seeking a reliable and hard-working Core Cutter / Exploration Field Technician to join its growing geology team. Someone who has referees that can confirm their ability to add value to the future employer.

This is a hands-on site-based role working closely with geologists and drill crews on a major exploration project. The operation is continuing to deliver strong drilling results and is entering a significant growth phase, creating long-term opportunities for the right people.

The role would suit someone with previous exploration, mining laboratory, drill core yard or field geology support experience who enjoys practical work, takes pride in detail and can work well within a close-knit team environment.

You will be involved in the handling, processing and preparation of drill core samples used by geologists to assess and evaluate underground.

A major component of the role involves operating and assisting with core cutting activities.

As part of the geology team, you will help:

• Receive and organise drill core samples
• Cut and prepare core for sampling and laboratory analysis
• Assist geologists with logging and sample handling
• Maintain clean and accurate sample records
• Support day-to-day exploration activities around the core yard and site

The work is physical, detailed and important to the success of the exploration program.

What we are looking For

• Previous experience in exploration, mining or laboratory environments preferred
• Experience handling or cutting drill core highly regarded
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to work safely within site procedures
• Team-focused attitude
• Comfortable working in remote site environments
