The Role

The business is seeking a full-time cook to support daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced commercial environment. The role involves food preparation, cooking, maintaining quality standards, and supporting kitchen efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Minimum 1–2 years' full-time, post-qualification experience as a cook/chef
  2. Relevant commercial cookery qualification (Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher)
  3. Experience in a commercial kitchen environment
  4. Ability to work weekends, public holidays, and split shifts
  5. Commitment to a long-term, full-time position

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and standards
  2. Assist in menu execution and daily food preparation
  3. Ensure consistency in taste, portion control, and presentation
  4. Maintain compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
  5. Follow and support HACCP and workplace health and safety procedures
  6. Assist with stock control, storage, and stock rotation
  7. Minimise waste and assist in controlling food costs
  8. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, equipment, and workstations
  9. Support senior chefs and assist in training junior staff when required

Required Skills and Attributes

  1. Sound knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
  2. Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  3. Good communication and teamwork skills
  4. Strong attention to detail
  5. Reliable, punctual, and professional

Preferred (Not Mandatory)

  1. Experience in seafood preparation
  2. Australian citizenship or Permanent Residency
