FC. J-FOOD PTY LTD trading as JJN Sushi Chain operates a Japanese restaurant in Queensland. We are currently seeking a cook who is self-motivated, well-organised, and passionate about Japanese cuisine and kitchen management.

Job Title: Cook

Location: Shop 069, Stockland Hervey Bay, 6 Central Ave, Urraween, QLD 4655

Duration: 3 years

Full/Part Time: Full-time, 38 hours per week

Annual Salary: $77,500 + superannuation (12%)

Tasks:

(1) Perform the activities of kitchen for the purpose of commercial cookery

(2) Discuss food preparation issues with the restaurant manager

(3) Check food to ensure its quality

(4) Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment

(5) Prepare food for cooking

(6) Cook food by a range of methods (e.g. baking, braising, frying, roasting or steaming)

(7) Divide food into portions and make sure that the food is well presented

(8) Clean food preparation areas and equipment

(9) Store food in temperature-controlled facilities

(10) Receive and store supplies

(11) Make sure kitchen is hygienic and functional

(12) Prepare food to meet special dietary requirements.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, applicants must demonstrate:

- Experience as a cook within the food industry

- Ability to oversee daily kitchen operations

- Excellent cooking skills in Japanese food

- Preferable: Australian citizen/Permanent resident
