Are you a culinary professional who thrives in a high-energy café environment? Jamaica Blue Shellharbour is looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Cook to join our kitchen team. If you take pride in every plate you send out and enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced setting, we want to meet you. This is a permanent full time position - 38 hours per week.

Your Role in the Kitchen

As a Cook at JamaicaBlue, you are at the heart of our guest experience. Your primary focus will be delivering consistent, high-quality meals that keep our locals coming back.

Key Responsibilities:

Culinary Excellence:

·Prepare and present menu items according to established recipes, ensuring every dish meets our signaturestandards for taste, visual appeal and quality.

Cabinet Curation:

·Maintain a vibrant and fresh displaycabinet, ensuring food is enticing and well-stocked throughout the day.

Operational Efficiency:

·Work closely with the front-of-house team to manage ticket times and ensure a seamless flow during peak breakfast and lunch rushes.

Kitchen Standards:

·Uphold strict food safety and hygiene protocols, including equipment maintenance and organized stock rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.

Growth & Support:

·Assist with the rollout of new seasonal menus and marketing campaigns while supporting your teammates acrossvarious café dutieswhen needed.

What You Bring to the Team

We are lookingfor a reliable professional who is as passionate about teamwork as they are about great food.

Requirements & Skills:

1) Qualification / Experience: Certificate IV in Cookery or equivalent experience. At least one year of experience in a commercial kitchen(café or restaurant environment preferred).

2) Efficiency:Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure in a high-volume environment.

3) Attention to Detail:A keen eye for plating,portion control, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

4) Certification: AFood Safety Certificate (or the willingness to obtain one within your first 30 days).

5) Attitude: A positive, "can-do" energy and a commitment to providing excellent service.

6) Eligibility: Must have valid rightsto work in Australia.
