As part of its continued operations and commitment to service excellence, our client is seeking an experienced and reliable full-time Cook to support kitchen operations, food preparation, and timely service delivery.
Duties and responsibilities:
·Preparing, seasoning, and cooking a variety of food items in accordance with the business’s recipes, quality standards, and customer expectations.
·Assisting with planning menus and estimating food and ingredient requirements to ensure efficient kitchen operations and stock control.
·Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation to maintain consistency and customer satisfaction.
·Ensuring food is prepared and stored in accordance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and workplace health and safety requirements.
·Operating kitchen equipment and maintaining a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment always.
·Assisting with stock rotation, inventory control, and notifying management regarding ordering requirements to minimise shortages and wastage.
·Working collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
·Storing food appropriately, including handling refrigeration, freezing, and temperature control procedures.
·Assisting in the development of new dishes and contributing ideas to improve menu offerings and kitchen efficiency.
·Training or assisting junior kitchen staff where required in food preparation techniques and kitchen procedures.
Qualifications and experience:
·Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery is required.
·The candidate must have at least 1 years’ experience in a busy restaurant.
·Friendly, positive & approachable attitude.
·To be energetic & motivated.
·Able to work under pressure.
Salary Package: $75,000 - $85,000 Plus Superannuation per annum.
