About the Business

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join our kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities

·Examine food ingredients, particularly seafood and fresh produce, to ensure quality and freshness before preparation

·Prepare and cook a variety of Japanese dishes including sushi, sashimi, rice dishes and other menu items in accordance with restaurant standards

·Regulate and monitor the temperature of cooking equipment such as grills, cooktops, fryers and rice cookers to ensure proper food preparation

·Season and prepare ingredients during cooking to maintain consistent flavour and presentation

·Portion food, arrange dishes for service and add sauces, garnishes and accompaniments according to menu requirements

·Store food and ingredients in temperature-controlled storage facilities in compliance with food safety standards

·Ensure the kitchen and food preparation areas are maintained in a clean and hygienic condition

·Assist with estimating food requirements and maintaining appropriate stock levels

·Prepare meals to accommodate special dietary requirements where necessary

·Assist with training junior kitchen staff and maintaining efficient kitchen operations

Requirements

At Least Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher relevant qualifications

At least 1 years of relevant work experience as a Cook (especially in Japanese restaurant is preferrable)

Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine and food preparation techniques

Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Commitment to maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards
