We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead the commercial and contractual management of major civil and piling projects across NSW.

Reporting to the Director, this role is responsible for ensuring contracts are commercially sound, risks are managed, claims are administered effectively, and all contractual, safety, environmental, and quality obligations are met.

This is a senior role requiring strong commercial judgement, contract negotiation capability, and the ability to work closely with project, estimation, and site teams to protect the company’s commercial position while maintaining strong client relationships.

  1. Key ResponsibilitiesReview, negotiate, and manage contract terms and conditions during pre-contract and delivery phases
  2. Brief project teams on contractual obligations prior to commencement
  3. Manage contractual claims, including variations and extensions of time, in line with contract notice requirements
  4. Ensure all commercial commitments are met, including insurances, bank guarantees, and compliance documentation
  5. Coordinate contract execution, approvals, and close-out
  6. Support negotiations with clients where contractual changes arise
  7. Attend tender handover, pre-start, and close-out meetings
  8. Monitor ongoing contract performance, issues, and change management
  9. Provide guidance and support to project managers on contractual matters
  10. Promote continuous improvement in contracting practices and procedures
  11. Commercial & Client FocusProtect and enhance the company’s commercial position across projects
  12. Maintain and develop relationships with government and private sector clients
  13. Monitor competitive contract terms and recommend improvements
  14. Support repeat business and long-term client relationships
  15. Health, Safety, Environment & QualityEnsure full compliance with WHS, environmental, and quality systems
  16. Promote safe work practices and continuous improvement
  17. Identify and report hazards, incidents, and system improvement opportunities

About YouYou are a commercially focused construction professional with strong experience managing contracts in a civil or piling environment.

You will bring:

  1. 3 years’ experience in civil engineering or construction (piling experience preferred)
  2. Strong experience in contract administration, claims, and negotiations
  3. Sound understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards
  4. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documentation
  5. Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
  6. High attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure
  7. Strong organisational and communication skills
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
  9. A practical, solutions-focused commercial mindset
