Role Description:
This is a full time on site role for a skilled Civil Engineer to join our team and contribute to our continued success. You will be required to have a tertiary qualification and a minimum of five years’ experience working as an Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities for this role shall include:

- Drive Safety and Compliance: Ensure full compliance with HSE, QA, contractual and company requirements and implement risk mitigation strategies to uphold a safe working environment.
- Maintain Quality and Environmental Standards: Oversee quality assurance and environmental performance, including internal audits, contractor compliance, and site environmental management.
- Support Project Planning: Collaborate on contract reviews, planning, procurement, and risk assessment to ensure clear project scopes and stakeholder communication.
- Oversee Project Execution: Supervise construction activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required standards, while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Manage Stakeholders Effectively: Build and maintain strong, honest communication with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams throughout project life cycles.
- Ensure Contract & Cost Control: Assist in contract administration, manage scopes of work, track project costs, and support budgeting and reporting functions.
- Lead Team Development: Identify training needs, support peer development, and maintain a productive, aligned, and competent project team.
- Foster Continuous Improvement: Encourage feedback, streamline processes, and promote innovation and learning across teams and projects.
- Adhere to Company Systems & Procedures: Uphold Cherrie Civil’s policies, BMS procedures, and project-specific objectives, ensuring operational consistency and excellence.
To be considered for this role the applicant must:
- Currently reside in Sydney;
- Possess a tertiary civil engineering qualification;
- Have completed up to 5 years post graduate professional experience preferably on earthworks and civil infrastructure based projects;
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Willingness to learn and excellent organisation skills;
- Proven ability of developing and maintaining good relationships with other project team members, the client and subcontractors;
- Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, implementation and commitment to HSE requirements.
