CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO)

An Australian fintech and digital asset business is seeking an experienced Chief Executive Officer to lead and oversee its operations within the digital asset, payments, and financial technology sectors.

The successful candidate must possess extensive experience in OTC digital asset operations, cross-border payments, account access infrastructure, and fintech environments. The role requires strong expertise in institutional settlement operations, digital asset liquidity management, and complex payment structures.

The successful candidate will also be expected to possess the necessary knowledge, experience, and competency to act as Responsible Manager and/or AML/CTF Compliance Officer, including oversight of the business’ regulatory compliance, financial crime risk management, AML/CTF framework implementation, transaction monitoring, sanctions compliance, and regulatory reporting obligations.

Key requirements include:

• Minimum 7–10 years’ experience within fintech, digital assets, OTC trading, payments, remittance, or regulated financial services;

• Extensive knowledge of fiat-to-crypto settlement operations and non-custodial digital asset business models;

• Strong understanding of payment rails including SWIFT, Faster Payments, NPP, and BECS;

• Advanced knowledge of AML/CTF laws, risk-based compliance frameworks, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, suspicious matter reporting, enhanced due diligence (EDD), and source of funds/source of wealth assessments;

• Experience acting as, or performing responsibilities similar to, an AML/CTF Compliance Officer or Responsible Manager within regulated financial services environments;

• Experience operating within AUSTRAC-regulated environments, including Digital Currency Exchange (DCE) and remittance frameworks;

• Demonstrated experience managing banking relationships, liquidity providers, institutional counterparties, and payment service providers;

• Strong familiarity with blockchain analytics and compliance monitoring systems such as Elliptic, Chainalysis, SumSub, or equivalent platforms;

• Experience in establishing and managing fintech or digital asset operations;

• Strong operational, strategic, governance, and commercial management capabilities;

• Existing industry relationships within fintech, banking, OTC trading, or digital asset sectors will be considered highly advantageous;

• Fluency in English required. Additional languages, will be considered advantageous.
