CHEF – Key Responsibilities
- Plan menus and assist in determining food quantities and cost
- Prepare and cook a wide range of Indian dishes using authentic methods
- Monitor food quality, taste, presentation and portion control
- Train and supervise Cooks and Kitchenhands
- Order and maintain inventory of spices, produce and kitchen supplies
- Collaborate with management to develop new dishes and improve existing recipes
- Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth food service
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and kitchen regulations
COOK – Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, prepare and select quality ingredients for cooking
- Measure, chop, blend, season and cook dishes following recipes
- Monitor cooking processes to maintain consistency and flavour
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to meet service demands
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, tools and work areas
- Assist with stock rotation and ingredient management
- Support the Chef in preparing new recipes and menu items
Requirements (Both Roles)
- Minimum 1 year experience in a commercial kitchen (Indian cuisine)
- Strong understanding of Indian spices, regional dishes and traditional techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Reliable, team-focused and committed to food hygiene and safety
- Good communication and organisational skills
