What We’re Looking For:
·Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
·Diploma in Hospitality Management
·Knowledge of Food Hygiene & OHS Standards
·Experience in Mediterranean Cuisine is preferable
·Strong teamwork skills and ability to perform under pressure
·Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and good communication skills.
Duties you will be performing:
·Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies.
·Be responsible for quality control and tasting the dishes; making sure they are at the right standard and are presented correctly before they go out to the customer.
·Discussing food preparation issues with owner along with kitchen and waiting staff.
·Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures.
·Preparing and cooking food.
·Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations.
·Assisting with selecting and training staff.
·Assisting with freezing and preserving foods.
·Creating a vision for the cuisine, inspiring your team and delegating tasks effectively.
·Recruiting, motivating and managing staff.
·Overseeing the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ordering food and undertaking the kitchen inventory (this potentially includes budgeting).
·Overseeing hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
Compensation and benefits:
·Salary of $74,000 per year
