Key Responsibilities

As a full-time Chef your duties will include:

·Plan menus, estimate food and labour costs, and arrange the ordering of food supplies.

·Monitor the quality of dishes throughout preparation and presentation.

·Collaborate with Managers, Dietitians, and kitchen and waiting staff on food preparation matters.

·Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance on preparation methods.

·Prepare and cook a variety of dishes.

·Ensure compliance with hygiene and food safety regulations.

·Assist in selecting and training kitchen staff as required.

·Lead and inspire a dedicated kitchen team to deliver exceptional service.

·Handle food preservation, including freezing and storage, when necessary.

·Maintain compliance with ACQSC standards for the dining experience.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

·Relevant Diploma-level qualification in cookery, hospitality, or kitchen management.

·At least three years of experience in a similar role within aged care, healthcare, or hospitality.

·Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and dietary requirements.

·Ability to plan, prepare, and present nutritious and appealing meals.

·Excellent organisational and leadership skills with a collaborative approach.

·Genuine passion for creating a positive dining experience for residents.
