Salary: $80,000 plus 12% superannuation

Our client, Guru Restaurants Pty Ltd trading as Namaste Indian Cuisine, operates a modern and vibrant Indian restaurant located in the heart of Bondi Beach, NSW. Namaste Bondi is renowned for delivering an authentic Indian dining experience inspired by the rich culinary traditions of the Indian subcontinent, complemented by contemporary creations with a distinctive ethnic edge. The restaurant prides itself on exceptional food quality, refined presentation, and service rooted in traditional Indian hospitality.
The client is seeking a passionate and qualified Chef to join its highly skilled and supportive kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting management in all aspects of kitchen operations to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality dishes in line with Namaste Indian Cuisine’s vision, culinary standards, and business objectives.
You shouldhave a passion for cookingand a strong understanding of kitchen operations, including food safety, kitchenequipment and staff management. Chef will ensure each menu item is prepared on time and meet the presentation style and qualitystandard required.
Qualifications and experience•Must have at least one-year culinaryexperience in a chef role with minimumrequirement having completed a Certificate IV or Diploma in Hospitality
In this role your main responsibilities include:•Preparing and cookingmenu items to the higheststandard
•Ensuring food is prepared and served on time
•Contributingto menu development and innovation
•Ensuring consistency in food qualityand presentation
•Monitor food and operating costsby reducing waste
•Maintain high foodsafety standards and procedures
•Monitor and adhereto OH&S requirements
•Ensuring that all dishesreach the hot plate or passe correctly garnished, the correctportion and size, presentedon the correct serving dish in the prescribed manner
•Menu planning, development and costing
•Contributingto creating a harmonious environment amongst all staffwithin the restaurant
•Ensuring timely and quality service according to service specifications and customer expectations
SkillsThe successful candidate will have a passion for the hospitality industry and be career focused. The key skills will include:
•Display outstanding culinaryknowledge and passionfor food
•Knowledge of stock control
•Knowledge of Nutritional and Allergy requirement
•Full understanding of food controls
•Understanding food safety, WHS and HACCP principles
You must be resilientand flexible with a positivecan-do attitude to meet the demands in this fast-paced environment and have the abilityto remain calm under pressure.
