Due to business growth, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis in Werribee, Victoria

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with menu specifications.
  2. Preparing and cooking high-quality meals from our seasonal and locally sourced produce.
  3. Plan and contribute to menu development, including seasonal and specialty dishes.
  4. Maintain high standards of food presentation and portion control.
  5. Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate kitchen operations during service.
  6. Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health regulations.
  7. Manage stock control, ordering, and kitchen inventory.
  8. Ensure efficient use of ingredients to minimise waste and maintain cost control.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Relevant qualification: Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, Diploma of Hospitality Management, or equivalent culinary qualification.
  2. Speciality in Sri Lankan and South Asian authentic cuisine/street food is a must.
  3. Minimum 1-3 years of relevant work experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
  4. Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation techniques, and menu planning.
  5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Strong organisational and communication skills.
  7. Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and kitchen hygiene.
  8. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.

Desirable Skills

  1. Experience managing kitchen staff or supervising junior cooks.
  2. Creative menu development skills will be a bonus.

Salary

The successful candidate will be offered a salary between $76,515 and $80,000 per year plus superannuation, depending on experience and qualifications.
