Position: Chef
Full Time
Location: Shepparton VIC 3630
Salary: ($80,000 - $85,000 per year) + Superannuation
We are looking for a Chef to join our team on a full-time basis at our venue located at Shepparton VIC 3630
- Contribute to menu development by creating recipes using local and seasonal ingredients, undertake costing and prepare budget.
- Analyze recipes to assign prices to menu items, based on food, labor, and overhead costs
- Control and rotate stock, estimate supplies, undertake timely ordering ensuring costs stay within budget.
- Inspect kitchen facilities and equipment to ensure operability, cleanliness and meeting safety standards. Arrange maintenance as required.
- Co-ordinate and supervise mise-en-place prior to service.
- Meet with customers to discuss menus for special occasions such as weddings, parties, and banquets.
- Direct and supervise food preparation, demonstrating techniques as required.
- Cook menu items using a variety of techniques.
- Organizing duty roster of kitchen staff
- Train and supervise kitchen staff.
What we are looking for:
- Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification (mandatory)
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices (HACCP knowledge preferred)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Creativity in pastry decoration and presentation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible with work shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays
