With strong customer demand and a busy service environment, we are now looking for a skilled and passionate full-time Chef to join our kitchen team. Main Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee undertakes to perform all tasks assigned for the position of a Chef efficiently and accurately. Such tasks will include but are not limited to:
·Preparing menu items with precision.
·Ensuring that garnishing, seasoning, and portion sizes meet the restaurant’s quality requirements.
·Supervising kitchen operations, coordinating tasks, and training staff on proper cooking equipment use and techniques.
·Motivating, directing, and managing kitchen staff through hiring, training, and ongoing supervision.
·Overseeing the quality of raw ingredients and finished dishes to maintain high standards.
·Ensuring kitchen hygiene standards are met, and meals are served promptly to customers.
·Ensuring food storage in temperature control facilities for optimal freshness.
·Assessing and controlling food and labour costs.
·Maintaining records relating to food preparation, inventory, and the temperatures of cooking equipment and refrigeration units.
·Creating seasonal menu items and recommending changes to existing menu offerings and pricing to minimise overhead costs and maximise profitability.
·Overseeing food preparation to address special dietary needs of customers.
·Managing inventory, sourcing quality ingredients, ordering stock, and minimising wastage.
·Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, food safety regulations, and professional kitchen standards.
Personal & Professional Attributes
·Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery.
·At least one year of experience in a similar role is required.
·Enthusiastic and motivated individual.
·Able to work in a team and autonomously.
·Friendly, positive, and approachable attitude.
·Adherence to OH&S and Food Safety regulations
·Availability 7 days a week including days/nights/weekends/split shifts and public holidays.
Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per annum plus superannuation
