Role Overview:

As a Chef at Tandoori Temptations, you will play a central role in preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality Indian dishes while ensuring consistency, taste, and presentation. You will collaborate closely with the kitchen team to manage menu offerings, create seasonal specials, and ensure smooth kitchen operations during peak service periods. This role is ideal for a chef with a passion for Indian cuisine, creativity in cooking, and strong teamwork abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Indian and Tandoori dishes to consistently high standards.
  2. Assist in menu planning, including seasonal specials and themed offerings.
  3. Ensure portion control, plating, ingredient quality, and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
  4. Lead, mentor, and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a professional and collaborative team culture.
  5. Manage stock levels, ordering, kitchen workflow, and prep schedules to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
  6. Contribute to catering events, special functions, and provide input on menu trends, pricing, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
  2. Minimum 1 year of experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen environment.
  3. Strong experience with Indian cuisine is highly desirable.
  4. Knowledge of modern cooking techniques, spice blending, and menu development.
  5. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
  6. Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
