Our client, DH Tallawong Pty Ltd trading as a franchise for Dosa Hut in Tallawong NSW is looking to fill full-time positions for qualified and skilled Chefs. This company takes pride in their ability to deliver quality food and a superior service every time. The restaurant is a highly regarded venue for both its food and welcoming hospitality in a vibrant atmosphere with a typical Indian sense of family.

The client is looking for an experienced Chef with the passion and ability to drive the kitchen, create amazing food offerings and provide support to the team. The Chef will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the customer’s satisfaction.

To be successful in this position, you will need to have relevant work experience and trade

qualifications, you must have a genuine interest in the hospitality industry. The successful

applicant must comply with all WHS, Food Safety and HACCP requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma
  2. At least 1-2 years’ experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Preparing quality food and planning menus, estimating food and labour costs.
  2. Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
  3. Maintaining high level kitchen standards and quality
  4. Assisting in the efficient running of kitchen operations
  5. Delivering outstanding food in taste and presentation
  6. Discussing food preparation issues with manager/ owner and kitchen staff
  7. Ensuring all kitchen staff understood expectations and parameters of kitchen goals and daily kitchen work
  8. Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
  9. Overall management of kitchen production to achieve consistency and deliver exceptional products and service
  10. Preparing and cooking Indian food
  11. Ensuring all food operations are compliant with relevant regulations
  12. Participating in the cost controlling and waste management of food
  13. Maintaining updated knowledge of local competition and restaurant industry trends

Skills and Personal Attributes:

  1. A demonstrated track record in creating innovative menus at the highest level
  2. In depth knowledge of Indian Cuisine and current market trends
  3. Proficient in both the Curry and Tandoor areas of the kitchen
  4. Exceptional shift management capabilities
  5. High standard of personal grooming and presentation
  6. Sound knowledge of kitchen management including menu planning and costing
  7. Good working knowledge of WHS standards
  8. Highly organized with the ability to supervise and support the team in kitchen operations
