JOB DESCRIPTION:

JKAUR GLOBAL GROUP PTY LTD, trading as The Indian Royal Flavours, is a hospitality business located at 30–34 Palmer Street, South Townsville, Queensland 4810, Australia. We operate as a full-service Indian restaurant, specializing in authentic Indian cuisine that showcases traditional flavours, premium ingredients, and contemporary culinary presentation.

We are currently seeking a permanent full-time Chef to join our team in South Townsville. A competitive salary package will be offered based on experience and qualifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Plan and organize the preparation and cooking of authentic Indian dishes and menus.

  2. Develop and design menus considering seasonal availability, customer preferences, and cost factors.

  3. Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow.

  4. Ensure quality, consistency, and presentation of all food prepared and served.

  5. Monitor food preparation and cooking methods to maintain authenticity and hygiene standards.

  6. Estimate food requirements and manage inventory, ordering, and storage of ingredients.

  7. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and occupational health standards.

  8. Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering skill development and teamwork.

  9. Control costs by managing portion sizes, minimizing waste, and optimizing resources.

  10. Innovate and create new dishes to enhance the restaurant’s menu and customer experience.

ATTRIBUTES:

  1. 1 year of relevant qualification is required.
  2. Minimum 1 year experience in a relevant discipline is required,
  3. Committed to adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries at the workplace.

Job type: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule: 8 hours shift

Ability to commute/relocate: 30–34 Palmer Street, South Townsville, Queensland 4810, Australia. Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience: At least 1 year (Preferred)

Salary: $77,000-80,000 annually excluding superannuation

Work authorization: Australia (Preferred)
