Salary: 75k - $85k plus superannuation

Table 26 Indooroopilly is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our professional kitchen team. This is a full-time position for a passionate culinary professional who can lead kitchen operations, maintain high food standards, and contribute to menu development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and design menus in consultation with management, considering seasonal produce and customer preferences.
  2. Organise and direct the preparation and cooking of food to ensure quality, consistency, and presentation standards are maintained.
  3. Manage and supervise kitchen staff including chefs, cooks, and kitchen hands.
  4. Train and mentor kitchen staff in food preparation techniques, kitchen procedures, and safe use of equipment.
  5. Monitor food preparation and cooking processes at all stages to maintain quality control.
  6. Manage stock levels, order food supplies, and control kitchen costs.
  7. Ensure compliance with food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and workplace health and safety requirements.
  8. Coordinate kitchen operations during busy service periods to ensure efficient workflow.

Skills and Experience Required:

  1. Minimum qualification: Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, Diploma of Hospitality Management, or equivalent qualification in commercial cookery (mandatory).
  2. Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience as a chef in a commercial kitchen.
  3. Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards.
