Park Hotel Maryborough is seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our hospitality team in Maryborough, Victoria. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and presenting quality meals, supporting daily kitchen operations, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Prepare, cook and present meals in accordance with menu standards and customer expectations
  2. Plan menus and contribute to menu development, including seasonal and special menu items
  3. Estimate food and labour costs and assist with stock control and ordering
  4. Monitor food quality at all stages of preparation and presentation
  5. Maintain hygiene, cleanliness and food safety standards in the kitchen
  6. Train, supervise and support kitchen staff where required
  7. Manage kitchen workflow during service periods to ensure timely food preparation
  8. Store food and ingredients safely and in accordance with food safety requirements
  9. Assist with managing wastage, portion control and kitchen efficiency

Skills and Experience Required

  1. Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  2. At least 1-2 years of relevant experience as a Chef or in a similar commercial kitchen role
  3. Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations
  4. Understanding of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements
  5. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality environment
  6. Strong teamwork, communication and organisational skills
