The menu features a diverse selection of share plates, seafood dishes, premium steaks, gourmet burgers, handcrafted pasta dishes and seasonal specials, with a strong emphasis on fresh ingredients, refined presentation and consistent quality. Catering to both local patrons and visitors, the venue operates in a fast-paced hospitality environment committed to delivering exceptional food and service.

Salary - $75,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation per annum

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join a friendly and dynamic kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a busy hospitality venue focused on delivering contemporary cuisine, efficient service and exceptional dining experiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Lead and motivate the kitchen team to consistently deliver high-quality meals and service standards.

• Demonstrate and guide kitchen staff in food preparation methods, cooking methods and presentation standards.

• Prepare and cook a variety of contemporary Australian dishes, including seafood, premium meat, pasta and seasonal menu items.

• Assist the management team in the developing and planning of menus and calculating food quantities and associated costs.

• Manage the costing, budgeting, ordering of food and kitchen supplies, ensuring the quality and consistency of fresh produce.

• Manage food storage, preservation and stock rotation in accordance with food safety standards.

• Monitor food quality at all stages of preparation, cooking and presentation to ensure consistency, portion control and high standards.

• Assist in the hiring, onboarding, rostering and training of new kitchen staff, alongside the estimating labour costs and maintaining efficient kitchen operations.

• Adhere to OH&S and Food Safety regulations.

This role demands leadership, organisational excellence and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining a passion for delivering innovative and exceptional cuisine.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Relevant qualification, such as a Diploma of Hospitality Management - Commercial Cookery (or agreed equivalent).

• Minimum of 1 year (preferably more) experience as a Chef within a busy restaurant, bistro or contemporary dining environment.

• Experience in managing a team in a fast-paced environment, whilst maintaining high standards and morale.

• Understanding of costing, portioning and kitchen management.

• Knowledge of OH&S and Food Safety regulations.

• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

• A great work ethic and a drive to make a lasting impact.

• Available to work across weekdays, evenings and weekends.

You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
