OLEA Café Bar Bistro (OLEA GROUP PTY LTD t/a OLEA CAFE BAR BISTRO ) is a vibrant European-Australian venue located in Lindfield, offering elevated local dining inspired by Italian and Spanish flavours. With a strong focus on generous hospitality, warm service, and connection to the community, we welcome our customers not as guests, but as family.
We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities:
• Determine how food should be presented and create decorative food displays
• Determine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of services
• Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies, including food and ingredients
• Collaborate with the Head Chef and Restaurant Manager to plan and develop recipes and menus, considering seasonal availability and customer demand
• Supervise and instruct cooks and kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of dishes
• Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with operational standards
• Manage stock ordering, stock rotation, and wastage control, and assist with purchasing and pricing of goods within budget
• Train and supervise kitchen staff to ensure consistent food quality and operational efficiency
• Assist in managing food costs and labour costs
• Perform rostering and shift management duties
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety (OH&S), HACCP guidelines, and food safety standards
• Monitor sanitation practices and maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
To be considered for this role, you must have:
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar Chef role
• Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
• Strong communication and team management skills
• Experience managing food safety procedures and documentation
• Rostering and stock ordering experience
• Sound understanding of OH&S and food safety requirements
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• A calm and professional attitude during busy service periods
• Availability to work weekends, public holidays, and rotating shifts
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
This is a full-time position based in Lindfield, NSW.
